Cathy Ferrier was appointed as Sentebale’s Chief Executive Office with effect from 12th March 2012.
For the previous five years Cathy was Fundraising Director for Oxfam, where she was responsible for raising more than £100m a year for Oxfam’s work, from individuals in the UK. As well as delivering a highly effective and market-leading brand refresh campaign, Cathy oversaw improved marketing and communications to more than 800,000 supporters, and increased income for Oxfam, the leading international development charity, during a difficult economic period.
Before joining Oxfam, Cathy spent over 25 years in buying and marketing roles for leading retailers, including Borders, WHSmith, the Walt Disney Company and the Burton Group. Prior to leaving the commercial world, she led the buying and marketing teams to winning the ‘Bestseller Chain Retailer of the Year’ and ‘Bookselling Company of the Year’.
Cathy’s mix of commercial experience and understanding of international development will be a huge boost to Sentebale as it expands its work.
Cathy has three grown up daughters and lives in Oxford.
Philip Green, Chairman of Sentebale, said:
“I am very pleased to announce that we have appointed Cathy Ferrier as our new Chief Executive. Cathy will be joining us from Oxfam where she has been Fundraising and Supporter Marketing Director as well as Deputy CEO.”
Marketing Week (12th January 2012):
“Oxfam says Ferrier has been a “huge asset” to the organisation and helped it reach new and existing supporters to grow income despite the difficult economic backdrop.”
