Tsepang, a young woman in her early 20s living in Lesotho, was forced to find means for survival for her and her younger sibling. They were living in extreme poverty. Their mother had to leave the country to find work.
In 2023, after participating in Sentebale’s Youth hub programme, Tsepang went through a three-month training course in cosmetology and did basic business management and financial education. She now does hair dressing out of her home and makes M500 (approx. $28 USD) on a weekly basis to support her and her sibling.
Said Tsepang,
“Being able to afford basic needs is like removing a heavy load on my shoulder.”
Our vision is that all young people in Southern Africa are empowered, healthy and resilient.
