Kent and Curwen Royal Charity Polo Cup

Kent and Curwen, the quintessential English menswear brand was the title sponsor for the third year running of The Kent and Curwen Royal Charity Polo Cup this past weekend, Saturday July 19, 2014 at the private grounds of Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Berkshire Estate, Watership Down.

Over 400 VIP guests were treated to a day of polo, English hospitality and auctions, all in support of Sentebale and Tusk Trust, HRH Prince Henry of Wales and HRH The Duke of Cambridge’s respective charities.

Special guests of the event included Lord and Lady Lloyd Webber, Sabrina Fung, David Gandy, Jade Parfitt and Jack Dyson, Samantha Barks and Richard Fleeshman, Jamal Edwards, Chris Weitz, Pattie Boyd, Lady Penelope Mountbatten, Peter Rooney and Kent and Curwen brand ambassador’s former footballer Michael Owen and singer Aaron Kwok.

As guests arrived to the beautiful setting of Watership Down, players took to the field to warm up for the Xerjoff Silver Cup, four chukkas of exhilarating polo serving as a perfect background to their champagne reception.

CEO of Trinity International Brands Ltd, Richard Cohen commented; “The Kent and Curwen Royal Charity Polo Cup is not only an important opportunity to see a beautifully played, classic game of English polo, and to connect with our brands sporting heritage, but is also an invaluable opportunity to support two important charities patronized by The Duke Of Cambridge (Tusk Trust) and HRH Prince Henry Of Wales (Sentebale).”

Following a three-course lunch, the Westcombe Group and the BP Polo teams prepped their horses for the main event of the day. The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry teamed up with high goal Thai Polo patron, Harald Link and 7 goal English player, James Beim playing for Westcombe Group to take on BP Polo’s brother’s Chevy and Joevy Beh and their father Dato Beh along with CEO and Chairman of Thompson Hotels, Dr Aron Harilela.

After a very exciting match, Westcombe Group took the win 7 – 5 to lift the 2014 Kent and Curwen Royal Charity Polo Cup.
