Maluti Mountain Brewery ride for Sentebale

Sentebale was delighted to be Lesotho Sky’s official charity partner for the six-day mountain bike race in Lesotho this year between the 21st-26th September 2014.

The 4th edition of the Lesotho Sky Race saw 70 participants compete from 12 different countries at the UCI accredited mountain bike race and saw a Basotho team win one of the stages for the first time.

As of this year individual and corporates were able to buy charity entries to the Lesotho Sky Race. The proceeds of these entries go straight to our projects in Lesotho. To learn more about our work with vulnerable children in Lesotho, participants received a talk from our co-founding patron Prince Seeiso. The first company to purchase a charity entry was SABMiller through their local subsidiary, Maluti Mountain Brewery (MMB).

Cathy Ferrier, Sentebale CEO says; “I’d like to say a huge thanks to our charity sponsor, SABMiller/Maluti Mountain Brewery as well as all the generous donations from riders and crew during the Lesotho Sky event. A little goes a long way in Lesotho. We very much look forward to inviting more teams to rider and raise money for Sentebale next year.”

Sentebale’s Country Director, Tumisang Leduma says; “The funds will go a long way towards helping us to provide care and support to many more vulnerable children through the build of the Mamohato Children’s Centre, currently under construction in Thaba-Bosiu. We are exited about this partnership and look forward to more opportunities with Lesotho Sky. Thank you.”

Final results of the race can be found here.
