Sentebale Hosts Free Movie Day For Thaba Bosiu Children

In collaboration with the local community through the Chief, Sentebale hosted 50 children aged 8 – 12years old to a free movie day at Mamohato Children’s Centre at Lihaseng Village in Thaba-Bosiu.

For nearly two decades, Sentebale has worked closely with youth, caregivers, and local institutions to design culturally relevant, locally led programmes that empower the next generation of African leaders.

Sentebale’s movie day screened the international film, Matilda, showcasing strong themes around education and kindness, further highlighting how children can stand up against bullies, be resilient and overcome challenges. In the safety of Sentebale caregivers, each child was welcomed with popcorn, snacks and treats ensuring a joyful and safe experience.

“We are pleased to have hosted a successful movie day for the community. The joy on each child’s face was a reminder why our work at Sentebale is so important. Every child deserves to be in a space where they can be children and be inspired. Where safety, support, and a sense of belonging are fundamental rights, not privileges. Thank you to our sponsors, Symantec Printing and Stationery for the delicious treats and to Cameraman Lesotho for capturing the unforgettable day. It truly takes a village!” says Ntoli Moletsane, Sentebale Lesotho Country Director.

In attendance was Carmel Gaillard – Sentebale Executive Director, Ntoli Moletsane – Sentebale Lesotho Country Director, Sentebale staff, caregivers, parents and the Chief’s representative who praised Sentebale and the centre for the impactful work they do.

The Mamohato Children’s Centre has been a key landmark for the community known for its beautiful landscape, modern conference facilities, accommodation, and recreational spaces. When not in use for Sentebale programmes, the Children’s Centre becomes an unforgettable venue for all forms of local or corporate events and gatherings, where every booking ensures that vulnerable children and young people from the community benefit.

Together with its partners and the local community, Sentebale is shaping a future where every young person in Lesotho is empowered, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive.
