CASE STUDY

Anglo American Group Foundation

The Anglo American Group Foundation entered into a partnership with Sentebale starting in January 2015 to support our Network Clubs and Camps programme for children living with HIV. This generous funding will play a pivotal role in the scale-up of our programme within Lesotho, and our upcoming country expansion into other Southern African countries where there is a similar need. The Foundation’s grant particularly focusses on our new Mamohato Children’s Centre, our first permanent facility that will allow us to reach over 1,500 children living with HIV in Lesotho each year and that will serve as a centre of excellence for training new staff and volunteers in providing care and support to vulnerable children in Lesotho.

The Anglo American Group Foundation are long-standing supporters of Sentebale’s work and we look forward to our continued partnership. Our collaboration allows The Foundation to witness the ongoing impact that their generosity is having on vulnerable children in Lesotho and beyond as we work together to achieve our mission of becoming the leading organisation in the provision of psychosocial support for children living with HIV in Southern Africa.

Professional Sports Group

Professional Sports Group chose Sentebale as their Charity of the Year for 2014. With sport at the heart of PSG, every staff member committed to undertake a personal sporting challenge in 2014. The aim is to raise enough money to build a football pitch, adventure playground, volleyball court and netball court along with the related sporting equipment for our flagship Mamohato Children’s Centre.

So far we’ve had employees take part in a wide variety of events ranging from Touch Mudder, a swim across the Bosphorus and a Three Peaks Challenge!

In 2010, the company sponsored Sentebale’s first polo cup in Barbados and has taken title sponsorship for the event in subsequent years in the UK, Brazil and USA.
