Trusts & Foundations
Sentebale works closely with individuals, trusts and foundations to make a significant and lasting difference to the lives of Lesotho’s children and their communities.
If you are an individual, or represent a trust or foundation, and are interested in making a significant gift, you could support us in bringing about real change. Significant gifts help us to plan for the future of the children we support, as well as to remain responsive to the needs of these communities.
We strive to build long-term relationships that align your interests with our funding priorities, so the communities we support in Lesotho can achieve their full potential.
How you can work with us
You can support us through an unrestricted fund donation, which provides an essential contribution to our work. You can also choose to support a specific project.
Your trust or foundation can choose the level of involvement you would like with your project. We offer a tailored service that includes:
- Regular and detailed reports on the difference your donation is making
- Opportunities to visit our programme work and meet the children and young people whose lives you are transforming
- Opportunities to connect with like-minded supporters

The Starkey Hearing Foundation
In 2013, the Starkey Hearing Foundation completed a two day hearing mission to provide over 500 children and adults with free hearing aids which included 250 children through our Care for Vulnerable Children Progamme.
At the epicentre of the mission were Starkey Hearing Foundation’s founders, Bill and Tani Austin, Sentebale’s patron, Prince Seeiso of Lesotho and Cathy Ferrier, CEO. Before commencing the mission, Bill spoke to the many people who had travelled afar and told them; “Hearing brings meaning and purpose to our lives. You are never too old to hear and hear your children and family tell you that they love you…. We have to have the help of good governance to help the people and good partners like Sentebale; together we can make a difference.”
The Starkey Hearing Foundation returned to Lesotho in February 2015 and trained 24 health workers, volunteers and interpreters in aural care. They continue to support our Care for Vulnerable Children Programme and are keen advocates of our work in Lesotho.

Lessons for Life Foundation
Sentebale enjoys a long standing partnership with Lessons for Life Foundation, our primary donor for the Secondary School Bursary Programme. Sharing a joint belief that education is the key to change, in 2014/15 we supported 432 vulnerable children through secondary school education and 8 through higher education in Lesotho.
Lessons for Life Foundation is a charity that funds education projects in some of the toughest parts of the world, they believe that education changes everything and every child, no matter where they are brown, has the right to an education that equips them for life. Through working with partners like Sentebale, their mission is to help get 50,000 children to school throughout the continent by 2017.
