Critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Rita Ora will headline the Sentebale Audi Concert in the stunning grounds of Hampton Court Palace on Tuesday 11 June 2019.

The evening of entertainment, guaranteed to be one of the most memorable events of the summer calendar, will raise awareness and funds for Sentebale, to support children and young people affected by HIV and AIDS in Lesotho, Botswana and Malawi; countries where HIV remains a leading cause of death.

Sentebale ambassador and spoken word poet, George the Poet (George Mpanga) will join Rita Ora and others – yet to be announced – to perform to an audience of 3,000 people, all coming together in a celebration of African and Western culture.

Organised in partnership with Historic Royal Palaces – the independent charity which cares for Hampton Court Palace – the Sentebale Audi Concert will be the first time Audi UK has supported the event.

Proceeds raised from the evening will help the charity address the mental health and wellbeing of many more children and young people whose lives have been affected by HIV in Lesotho, Botswana and Malawi.

Rita Ora, said: “I am honoured to perform at the Sentebale Audi Concert and raise awareness and provide critical emotional and psychological support to young people living with and affected by HIV in southern Africa.”

Richard Miller, Chief Executive of Sentebale, said: “We’re delighted that some of the biggest global performers are helping Sentebale deliver a sustainable, quality programme for children and young people affected by HIV, enabling them to lead healthy, happy and productive lives. The Sentebale Audi Concert will bring people together to help empower new generations to seek positive change and dispel stigma in local communities, often preventing children and young people from knowing and managing their HIV status”.

Andrew Doyle, Director of Audi UK, said: “We are honoured and excited to offer our continued support to Sentebale. Together with The Duke of Sussex and Prince Seeiso Bereng Seeiso, we will ensure the Sentebale Audi Concert is an evening of world-class entertainment and successful in achieving its charitable aims.”

John Barnes, CEO of Historic Royal Palaces, said: “Historic Royal Palaces is proud to be partnering with Sentebale for what promises to be an incredible evening of entertainment at Hampton Court Palace. As well as the opportunity to enjoy a stellar line-up of artists in this impressive setting, each ticket sale directly supports the important work Sentebale undertake to improve the lives of children and young people living with HIV.”

Sentebale’s inaugural outdoor music concert at Kensington Palace in 2016, headlined by Coldplay, has enabled the charity to reach thousands more young people in recent years.

Over the last decade, Sentebale has supported thousands of children and young people affected by extreme poverty and the HIV epidemic, providing them with the life skills, peer-networks and education to lead healthy, productive lives.

Proceeds from the evening will go towards Sentebale’s projects supporting youth affected by HIV in Lesotho, Botswana and Malawi, and Historic Royal Palaces’ conservation and education programmes.

Sentebale would like to thank all of their partners and supporters who have made this event possible, including Audi UK and American Express.
